The Nottingham Hydro Power Plant in Avon, Colorado, was built in 1928 by the Nottingham family, local ranchers, and operated until 1942 when rural electrification arrived in the area. In 2007, GES Tech Group was retained to evaluate the remaining plant components and provide consultation for an effort to preserve this early example of innovative solutions. GES Tech Group determined the likely configuration of the drive train and also designed the deep foundation system and pedestals for the final restored historical display. The generator was a 32-40 volt DC machine rated at 500 watts and 1700 rpm, manufactured by Sethman Electric and Manufacturing Company, Denver, Co.
