The Church of Latter Day Saints (LDS) History Library was completed in 2009. The mechanical systems for this facility, including 100% back up emergency power, were required to remain operational after a maximum credible seismic event (MCE). Due to the proximity of active fault zones in the Salt Lake City area, this proved to be a significant design issue. GES Tech Group was retained in 2008 to provide design and on-site inspection services in order to meet this strict criteria. The 1250 kw inertia base mounted back up generator and all mechanical systems supports and seismic bracing were designed by GES Tech Group on behalf of the principle MEP engineer-of-record.
