Insulated Concrete Forms are also applicable to warm tropical climates like Florida. In 2024, GES Tech Group designed and supervised the construction of a 3 bed room home with four inch concrete forms and a total of five inches of EPS insulation, providing about an R25 wall system.
Particular advantages are gained in terms of minimum air infiltration and no issues with vapor barriers since the walls are air tight. Insulation was applied in the attic at an R38 level. Heating and cooling was provided by a 2 ton heat pump.
